The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation today named the finalists for its annual Citizens Awards – 28 companies that have shown outstanding leadership in driving solutions to the world’s biggest problems, from educating America’s youth on the power of civic engagement, to increasing access to localized data to build community resilience, to expanding economic opportunity for women and young people worldwide. 

“Businesses are problem solvers, risk takers, difference makers,” said Carolyn Cawley, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. “And nothing can tell this better than the incredible stories we’re highlighting through the Citizens Awards. Congratulations to this year’s finalists for their visionary leadership, and their praiseworthy efforts to strengthen our communities and deliver innovative business-led solutions to solve new and persistent challenges.” 

Awards are presented in nine categories, reflecting the extraordinary impact of business in areas ranging from civic engagement to health and wellness initiatives to disaster response in communities. This year’s finalists are: 

  • Best Corporate Steward: Large Business 
    Finalists: Citi, Medtronic, Tata Consultancy Services 
  • Best Corporate Steward: Small and Middle-Market Business 
    Finalists: NewDay USA, Submittable, Veris Residential 
  • Best Commitment to Education Program 
    Finalists: Chicago Fire Football Club, RTX, TE Connectivity Ltd.  
  • Best Community Improvement Program 
    Finalists: Bayer AG, Tru Earth Environmental Products, Inc., The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. 
  • Best Community Resilience and Disaster Response Program 
    Finalists: American Airlines, AT&T, United Parcel Service, Inc. 
  • Best Economic Opportunity and Empowerment Program 
    Finalists: Best Buy, Cargill, Visa Foundation 
  • Best Health and Wellness Program 
    Finalists: Abbott and Abbott Fund, PepsiCo, UnitedHealth Group  
  • Best Sustainability Program 
    Finalists: FedEx, IBM, Oracle, Procter & Gamble  
  • Best Civic Engagement Program 
    Finalists: Colorado Chamber Foundation and Colorado Chamber of Commerce, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater Vancouver Chamber

Citizens Awards winners will be announced during the 2023 Business Solves Conference on November 1-2.
